What's the toughest objection you've heard against sustainable practices, and how would you address it?

I have heard that the majority of all items sent for recycling end up in landfills. There should be more regulation concerning the handling and sorting of trash as well as incentives to create recycled products.

"Sustainability is too expensive." By when we purchase sustainable items and it can be in fact be really expensive.

I have heard objections due to funding. I would address this with the fact that saving the Earth and ensuring a future for the human race is more important than money.
